This amazing film is not just a "chick flick". I think it holds a little something for movie lovers of all kinds. It's an emotional story, that also offers a appropriate humor and edge of your seat suspense. Without giving away any spoilers, I'll just say that the ending is very well done. I was pleased with this film for many reasons, but the talent really stood out as first rate. The actress playing young Diane delivered an unforgettable performance, and as usual Uma Thurman was flawless. Although this film is not here typical genre, her performance was not lacking, in fact I believed she shined. The lesson you take from this film is to not take life as you know it for granted, things can change in a second.

Keanu Reeves plays a LAPD cop who gets caught up in a cat and mouse game of murder and violence. Reeves learns from his boss (Forest Whitaker) that a former partner has been turning over dirty details about him. When Reeves goes to confront the former partner, two thugs shoot the partner down so Whitaker must cover up the fact that Reeves was there because it would look like Reeves called out a hit on his partner. This here is where the trouble begins because Reeves wants vengeance for his partners death and soon he begins to uncover a dirty game of money and death. This film is a real throwback to the 1970s cop films because it's extremely violent, profane and politically incorrect. In the end the movie is good but I can't help think it could have been a lot better with a better screenplay to do justice to all the twists and turns in the story. The screenplay centers on the mystery of what really happened when the two thugs killed the cop but it's pretty easy to figure out what's going on long before they happen in the movie. I enjoyed the movie overall due in large part that it didn't try to play it safe and it didn't hide from the various race issues brought up in the screenplay including having Reeves a possible racist. The dialogue is very fast and sharp and again contains some politically incorrect talk, which isn't too common these days. Reeves turns in another fine performance as the down on out cop but he's so fun here that's it's easy to want him to find the truth. Whitaker delivers another very strong performance in his usual maniac style. The film features some nice cinematography as well as a great music score, which adds a lot to the heat in the film. In the end, this film is all about violence and being politically incorrect and if that's the type of action film you want then this one here should work for you.

I'm a fan of Bob Odenkirk's previous work (Run Ronnie Run & The Mr. Show) and I was excited to hear of this film knowing that it also started Arnett and Shepard.

And although Odenkirk's direction is good, it's the comedy duo of Arnett and Shepard are really make this film worth watching. They; together with McBride, have a undisputable chemistry that seems to work.

Apart from the odd scene that seems to go on for too long (eg: some of the scenes with Arnett and McBride, although strengthening an important plot point, seem to go on for much to long.) and the ending (I won't give it away, but it fell kind of flat) this is a stupidly funny film that's easy to watch and will have you laughing in the first five mins.

It's worth watching if only for the dynamic between Arnett and Shepard.

As a fan of the Comedy Central Series,the temptation was definitely there to go see this movie in the theater,but I ultimately passed,opting instead to catch this movie on DVD. I feel like I made the right decision,but I imagine that even if I HAD caught this on big screen,it wouldn't have been kicking myself. Still,this seemed a lot better as a rent.

The same gang of deputies from Nevada are back,and they've managed to end up attending a law enforcement convention in Miami. At first shunned by their fellow comrades in police-work,they are later brought in when the hotel where the conventioneers is staying at is infected with a dangerous virus as part of a biochemical terrorist attack. They are deputized by the deputy mayor(Patton Oswalt,a recurring appearance on the TV show) and have only a handful of time to find the antidote. Also,they find themselves menaced by a thick-headed and ill-tempered Miami drug-lord(but of course!)(Paul Rudd,nearly unrecognizable).

This is probably one of the worst movies I have seen so far this year. Dull, boring, not-making-a-lot-of-sense... lots of holes in the plot and acting which I have seen better in school plays.. Actually I think I would prefer watching 'Bloodrayne' and 'Bloodrayne 2' again as opposed to this lame excuse of a movie. If you have never seen any movies in this genre (The Omen, Stigmata, Bless The Child and so on) - please - do not watch this one. It will make you run away from the genre... But OK - to be fair to this movie - I haven't seen the first one (666 The Child.. I think), but I do not feel any urge to see the first one. It probably could have been OK for a Sunday with a hangover if they had changed the script, the director and the actors...
